Surrendering to Suddenly

Fighting to stay places that we don’t belong, aren’t appreciated, or are being betrayed are not places the Lord wants us to be. There are right places for everyone, and just because those places are right for others, it doesn’t mean that is where you are supposed to be.  🙂

I am making more changes in my life than I ever have before. Changes that are hard. Changes that hurt. Changes that I don’t really want…which is how I know the Lord’s hand is in it. If it were easy, it would be of my own flesh and I would have no problems taking the necessary steps. The fact that it’s gut-wrenching and heartbreaking confirms that I’m being obedient, regardless of what I actually want or think. It’s not easy, but sometimes it’s necessary.  😔

Sometimes you choose the same patterns or people or places for years or even decades because it’s what you know and it’s what you love and it’s what you want. You keep going back on the same hamster wheel because you have given these things a bigger place in your heart and priorities than you maybe should have. But how can God grow you if you simply stay in what’s easy or known? Sometimes He asks you to walk a path of complete unknowns and discomfort, but what you can know for certain is that He has plans for beautiful growth in the new places He is taking you. Let Him continue to weed your garden and completely shift your community and inner circle if that’s what needs to happen. This life isn’t about comfort and conformity; it’s about Christ and our commitment to him. 🌾 🌱

No matter how hard it is, trust what the Lord is showing you and telling you. When He opens your eyes to things, and you finally have those “aha” moments, it will all be worth it and you will wish you had listened (and obeyed) sooner. You will lose friends. You may lose family. You will second-guess what you have to do and experience deep self-doubt. But God always knows what the bigger picture includes and where we need to be in order to live out our calling. We should remember this when we are making hard decisions. 😌

Don’t give up. Don’t stay where you know you shouldn’t just because of habit. Pay attention to the things being shown to you about people, places, and things. Don’t ignore the valuable insights you are being given when the Lord is trying to get you to see things you need to be made aware of. God will steer you in the way of His Will and for your own good—and you will undeniably end up in the right places, with the right people, and doing the right things! God’s GPS is always on point and there is NEVER a lack of dignity involved when you walk away with the Lord’s prompting and blessings. 🙌🏻
